Her grandfather served under General Patton in World World II, her other set of grandparents worked in the factories until starting their own small restaurant, her mom is a home healthcare hospice nurse, and her dad looks after the grieving and their loved ones as a funeral director.
Serving her community is what Ann does.
She’s a volunteer with the American Red Cross, an active member and volunteer at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, a volunteer Misericordia University who even taught classes there, and a 10-year active 4-H member.
A lifelong conservative, she’s devoted much of her personal time to the Republican Party working to promote conservative governing principles and leaders by serving as the current Vice Chair of the Lycoming County Republican Committee and Vice President of the Williamsport / Lycoming County Council of Republican Women, and formerly as Treasurer for the Pennsylvania Young Republicans.
Ann's passion to serve others led her to serve as an intern for Congressman Tom Marino – which led to a fulltime opportunity to serve his constituents as a member of his district staff. When Congressman Fred Keller succeeded Tom Marino, he asked her to serve as District Director – overseeing constituent services across 15 counties and three district offices to help even more people across our region.
Today, Ann is called to serve in a new way – stepping into the arena herself to seek the newly open 83rd State House seat.
A lifelong resident of Lycoming County, she’s seen how the disastrous policies of Tom Wolf and the Philadelphia progressives impact our communities – with an assault on our jobs, no relief for hard-working taxpayers, and constant efforts to put teacher union leaders - not parents - in charge of our children’s education.
She’s committed to reining in government to provide more opportunity for small businesses to thrive and create family-sustaining jobs. That’s why she’ll aggressively fight unconstitutional mandates that cripple our economy while working for smaller, smarter government to hold the line on taxes and encourage economic growth right here at home.
Ann knows a quality education is critical to economic development and job creation. That’s why she’ll work to improve Pennsylvania’s education system to best prepare our children for success in the future while protecting local homeowners and taxpayers. She’ll fight for commonsense reforms that ensure parents have a say in their kid’s education.
And because our democracy depends on it, Ann will focus on election integrity to protect our vote by working to enact voter ID laws, ending unsecured “drop boxes,” and more – to help restore faith in Pennsylvania elections.
As an NRA member and strong proponent of the Second Amendment, she’ll protect our Constitutional rights and always protect police funds to keep our communities safe. She’ll never let liberal politicians and woke progressives defund our police.
And after 22 years of Catholic school education, no one will fight harder for innocent life, the unborn, and our pro-life values than Ann. Born in Berwick, Ann attended St. Ann’s Elementary School and graduated from St. John Neumann Regional Academy in Williamsport. She earned a bachelor’s degree in National Security from Misericordia University and a master’s degree in Public and International Affairs from the University of Pittsburgh with a focus on National Security and Intelligence Studies.
As a lifelong resident of our community – raised, educated, and employed here – Ann Kaufman isn’t just called to serve. She’s called to serve us.
